Statement
It starts the way it did when I was four…with a piece of paper and a pencil. I have always made drawings. I am attracted to the shapes and shadows of the natural world and I like to play with width and intensity of line. Now that I can turn my drawings into etching plates, I can explore those shapes and shadows even more with ink and tone. Each print is a meditation.
I like to work in series and explore a set of images for months at a time. For me, it is about playing and thinking and experimenting.
