Cindy remembers her first piece as an unfired bust of Gauguin done in high school, has distant memories of drawing and painting at UC Berkeley in 1966, and has been fortunate to lead an artistic life ever since. She has designed houses, been a studio potter, taught as a spectra artist, and has, more recently, focused on painting and printmaking. She studied at UCSC in ceramics and attended Big Creek Pottery. She pursued pottery for over 20 years, selling her work throughout the Bay Area, and has had work in such places as the Richmond Art Center and The Oakland Museum of California. She was a Spectra resident artist in schools throughout Santa Cruz County. Her work has been in The Sunset Bathroom Book and she has done large mosaic tile installations in private residences.
After retiring from teaching in 2006, Cindy became a student of painting and drawing at Cabrillo College and participated in many workshops. She is now working as a printmaker with PATT (Printmakers at the Tannery). She has shown her work at the Pajaro Valley Art Council, Santa Cruz Art League, The R. Blitzer Gallery, The Tannery Art Center, and Santa Cruz County Bank.
